On March 8, 2014, Nakita Valerio was interviewed by the Mohammedia Press in Morocco for her role in educating youth about women’s rights and gender inclusivity. Some of her work with the American Language Center was covered in the interview, including her social awareness student campaign called Letters To Our Brothers in which students collected pledges and letters about ending street harassment in Morocco. Other points that were talked about included the importance of education, particularly in rural areas of Morocco. Nakita highlighted her work in building Bassma Primary School in El Attaouia – a village just north of Marrakesh.
